Transform Lives, One Support at a Time: Your Pathway to a Career in Disability Support

This online course is structured into two comprehensive parts. Learn how to create inclusive learning experiences, provide in-home support, and even extend your care to areas like sports, leisure, and travel. By the end of this course, you’ll be well-prepared for a range of career outcomes. Whether you’re interested in disability support work, personal care assistance, home health aide roles, or even branching into counselling, social work, and other health professions, this course sets you on the path to a fulfilling and impactful career. Don’t miss your chance to stand out in the competitive field of health and social services. Enquire now and take the first step towards a future where you don’t just make a living—you make a difference.

Module 1: Disability Support (100 hours)

This course aims to broaden and deepen your appreciation of the diversity of disabilities that exist, and to have a better capacity to respond to and support challenges faced by any disabled person. Disabilities can be physical, sensory, developmental, cognitive, intellectual, or mental. They may also be a combination of any of these types. This course explores the scope and nature of disability and disabled support to help individuals better respond to issues faced by persons living with a disability, whatever the disability might be.

Module 2: Professional Supervision (100 hours)

This course is essential training for anyone working in helping professions, nursing, aged care and disabilities, counselling, teaching and those that work in business. Whilst it leans towards the health and caring professions, this course is relatively generic in nature and is applicable to a wide range of careers. Students learn about different models of supervision, their pros and cons, and their relevance to different types of workplace scenarios. It is of value as much to people offering supervision as to those undertaking it, and given that we each benefit from supervision regardless of our station, the course may be of value to most people.
