Learn classroom delivery skills, covering everything from interpersonal communication in education to stress and conflict management. You’ll gain insights into understanding motivation and how to apply it in an educational setting, educational psychology and all about development and learning theories, behavioural learning, and individual needs. You’ll also explore the intricacies of memory retention and loss, and understand the principles of constructivist learning and motivation as well as how to establish a solid teaching-learning relationship through clear communication, and the keys to effective interpersonal interactions in an educational environment.

Module 1: Classroom Delivery Skills (100 hours)

Teaching requires an understanding of content and people. Every learner is different — which means understanding how people learn, how to encourage and motivate, and how to adapt are essential to developing a good teaching practice. You’ll learn how communication works, and use that understanding to create appropriate conditions for successful learning. As you study this course, you’ll consider how the strategies, practices and processes discussed can be applied to teaching or training situations.

Module 2: Educational Psychology (100 hours)

This course develops your understanding of the theory and practice of educational psychology, helping you to solve problems you confront when helping others to learn. It gives you a foundation to be more effective when improving learning outcomes. Study how and why people learn, and how to apply that learning to bring about changes in people of all ages. This course will benefit a wide range of people, from parents (understanding of how their children develop) to teachers/trainers and welfare workers or leisure professionals (eg. youth leaders).

Assessment

Assessments are an important part of your study journey as they help ensure you stay on track and meet the learning objectives of each lesson before moving onto the next. They also help your student support advisor and mentors identify where any further support may be required, so that you get the most out of your course. You will learn via various methods; a combination of reading, undertaking research and watching videos. Assessments might include case studies, quizzes, and written assessments.
