Module 1: Animal Health Care (100 Hours)

Designed to teach you how to manage animal health for pets, wildlife or farm animals, this module will help you understand animal health care and basic veterinary procedures. From veterinary health, disease prevention, animal first aid and rehabilitation care, you will learn broad and varied knowledge and skills, which you can take with you into any role where you are working or caring for animals.

Module 2: Wildlife Conservation (100 Hours)

In this module, you will learn how to conduct flora and fauna surveys, learn about wildlife conservation theory, habitat rehabilitation and threatened species recovery. Gain knowledge about the different ways you can conserve wildlife, including the impact habitat use and fragmentation can have, and learn a variety of survey techniques to be used to better understand wildlife, flora, vegetation and marine life.

Module 3: Animal Welfare (100 Hours)

Gain a thorough understanding of how to manage animal welfare effectively, covering topics such as animal protection services, animal rescue and health services. This module also extends to exploring animal welfare considerations across various contexts, including pets, work animals, animals in sport, farm animals and wildlife in both free and captive environments. This module equips you with the knowledge to recognise and address welfare needs across a diverse range of animal populations, ensuring informed decisions and actions in the field of animal care and welfare.

Module 4: Wildlife Management (100 Hours)

Designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective wildlife conservation and management, this module covers various critical topics, including wildlife ecology, habitat management, population dynamics and carrying capacity. You will learn about conducting wildlife censuses and the various techniques used in wildlife management.

Additionally, the module delves into the legal and administrative aspects of wildlife management and culminates with a case study research project, providing a comprehensive understanding of the field essential for anyone working with or caring for wildlife.

Module 5: Animals Diseases (100 Hours)

Gain an increased knowledge and understanding of diseases that can affect the health of pets and other animals. You will learn how to examine sick animals and understand how diagnostic procedures are applied for determining diseases, including identifying common animal poisonings. You will learn about the warning signs associated with different diseases and have a better capacity to make decisions about caring for sick animals and knowing when to seek advice from a qualified veterinarian.
